Or wherever our next adventure takes us!
A shared passion for travel and hospitality is what first brought us together and ultimately led us to create Lillypilly's.
Josef’s earliest memories are rooted in his family’s ski lodge in the Austrian Alps. His culinary journey began with a cooking apprenticeship that took him across the globe, from New Zealand to executive roles at the Toronto and Düsseldorf Hiltons. In 1984, we settled in Sydney, where Josef served as the Executive Chef at the iconic Sebel Townhouse.
My own journey began in Auckland, leading me to Melbourne’s St Kilda Road Travelodge, before I set off to explore Canada, America, Mexico, and Europe. Upon returning to Australia, I dedicated myself to wellness, completing qualifications in Remedial Massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, and later, a degree in Psychology, diplomas in Counselling and Ayurveda Clinical Studies, and training as a Beauty Therapist.
In 1996, we moved to Maleny with our three young sons to establish Lillypillys. We set out with a simple vision: to blend fine food, intuitive service, and holistic relaxation. Today, 30 years later, our sons have carved out their own destinies, and we are just as passionate about creating unforgettable escapes as the day we opened.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise soon.
Once Were Wild Travel – A New Chapter Creating Memorable Experiences for Women.
Barbara and I (Adele) are thrilled to channel our passion for hospitality into a brand-new venture.
Bringing together Barbara’s 40 years of love for food and hospitality as a restaurateur, and our deep roots in hospitality and here at Lillypilly's, we wanted to create soulful travel experiences for women that feel just like coming home.
We are kicking off this new journey with our very first Maleny Creative Immersion Retreat this November, and we would love for you to be a part of it.
